  8. RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FATHER RESULTS IN FAITH FOR DAILY LIVING
  9.  
  10. Last study, we discussed the aspect that FAITH IS RELATIONSHIP. 
  11. The confidence to ask, requires having a heart that does not
  12. condemn you (1 John 3:21), knowing that you keep His commandments
  13. and do the things that are pleasing in His sight; the ability to
  14. ask what you will and receive it (John 15:7), follows "abiding" in
  15. Christ; the desires of your heart are given, following "delighting
  16. yourself in Him" (Ps.37:4).

  18. If you study the lives of the men of the Bible, it is obvious how
  19. central "faith" is in they thought, said and did! Noah's life was
  20. lived in the light of building an ark, preparing for the salvation
  21. of his household (after being warned by God about things not yet
  22. seen) (Hebrews 11:7); Moses learned the lessons of faith and became
  23. a mighty leader of his people against the Egyptian oppressor; (Ex.
  24. 16, 17) Abraham centred his life around God's word to him (Heb.
  25. 11:8-12); David learned to act in faith whilst minding his father's
  26. sheep prior to killing the giant (1 Samuel 17); Joshua learned the
  27. faith principles of "seeing" "the unseen" (Joshua 6:2) (although
  28. one nation, Ai, almost overwhelmed him, he sought the Lord and
  29. found victory in following God's word completely); Elijah and
  30. Elisha lived by these principles!

  32. When you follow the New Testament writers, again you will find that
  33. "the law of faith" comes through in every book ... "According to
  34. your faith be it unto you" in the Gospels; saving faith in Romans;
  35. faith that gives freedom in Galatians; Peter talks of faith that is
  36. tested; John speaks of faith that overcomes the world; James
  37. reminds us that faith must have corresponding actions; Hebrews
  38. tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
  39. evidence of things not seen and a faith that endures; Thessalonians
  40. speaks of faith that sanctifies; Ephesians and Colossians remind us
  41. that our faith must be centred in Christ; and Timothy is told to
  42. fight the good fight of faith!

  44. KNOW THE INTEGRITY OF GOD'S WORD
  45.  
  46. God is a God who responds to FAITH.  FAITH pleases Him and He
  47. responds to those who come to Him in faith. God never changes
  48. (Malachi 3:6) -His Word will never change (Psalm 119:89)
  49.  
  50. God's Word is a living Word (Hebrews 4:11-16).  It is ALIVE, ACTIVE
  51. & FULL OF POWER! JESUS IS THE WORD! John 1:1-14
  52.  
  53. In order to live by faith, we must LIVE BY THE WORD.  THE WORD OF
  54. GOD (the Bible) IS GOD SPEAKING TO YOU.  It is not just a book of
  55. stories or a book on history! It is God-inspired; God-breathed and
  56. God-indwelt! It makes life simple when you don't have to read
  57. something into it or explain it away .... simply believe what the
  58. Word says and then walk in the light of what it says!
  59.  
  60. The Bible is full of God's Words .... the Bible is the Will of God!
  61. How do you know that what you have asked is according to His will?
  62. All you have to do is read the Bible so you can know His Will!
  63.  
  64. In a game of "Scrabble", etc.a dispute may arise over words, but we
  65. settle it by turning to the dictionary! The Bible is God's
  66. Dictionary to us.... LET'S BELIEVE GOD'S WORD FOR WHAT IT SAYS!

  68. THE POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD ...
  69.      A SWORD   Heb. 4:12, separates you from sin
  70.      A MIRROR  James 1:22-25, reflects!
  71.      AS WATER  Eph. 5:26, Ps,. 51:2, washes, cleanses
  72.      A SEED    1 Peter 1:23, reproductive power! 
  73.      AS FOOD   1 Peter 2:2, nourishes!

  75. STAND FIRM IN THE FAITH         1 Cor. 16:13,  Ephesians 6:13
  76.  
  77. The Bible says we should "be on the alert, stand firm in the faith,
  78. act like men, be strong."
  79.  
  80. The only way you can live like this is to live by faith in every
  81. area of your life.

  83. WHAT YOU THINK should reveal FAITH!
  84.  
  85. 1.   Have a renewed mind - Romans 12:2
  86. 2.   Don't permit any unscriptural thoughts - 2 Corinthians 10:5
  87. 3.   Keep things in proper focus! James 1:8
  88. 4.   Be aware of God's presence! l John 4:4
  89.  
  90. WHAT YOU SAY should reveal FAITH!
  91.  
  92. 1.   Speak words of faith from a believing heart.  Romans 10:8
  93. 2.   Your testimony counts! Revelation 12: 11
  94. 3.   Hold onto your profession of faith! Hebrews 4:15
  95. 4.   What you say Is what you'll have! Mark 11 :23
  96.  
  97. WHAT YOU DO should reveal FAITH
  98.  
  99. 1.   Corresponding actions always accompany faith. James 2:22, 
  100.      Luke 5:24-28
  101. 2.   Live daily by your faith.  Romans 1:17
  102. 3.   It's a fight so be prepared to battle! 1 Timothy 6:12
  103.  
  104. IN  THE FIGHT OF FAITH, REMEMBER THIS STRATEGY.......
  105.  
  106. 1.   Get your "battle plan" or "sealed orders" from God, away from
  107.      the firing line! Take time to consult with God! God must get
  108.      His thoughts through to us! Allow the Holy Spirit to be your
  109.      Helper!
  110.  
  111. 2.   Let nothing prevent you from carrying out those orders!
  112.      A quality decision to act on the Word of God and let It be the
  113.      governing factor in your life, releases the power of patience
  114.      (perseverance) and FAITH & PATIENCE INHERIT THE PROMISES.
  115.      (Hebrews 6; 12)
  116.      Now stand and see your victory with small output of energy or
  117.      loss of life.

  119. 1 John 5:14, 1 5 'And this is the confidence that we have In Him,
  120. that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us; and
  121. if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE
  122. THE PETITIONS THAT WE DESIRED OF HIM."
